5 Things To Like This Week

It's good for you!
1.  Lemon Water.  I have a hard time drinking plain water.  I've tried everything to spruce it up a bit.  Something I've been doing lately has been working pretty well.  I cut up a whole lemon--sliced into circles.  Then I drop the slices into my Camelback water bottle.  I can refill this for about 2 days as long as I refrigerate the water bottle overnight.  The important part is cleaning the water bottle, which I do by adding a little bleach to some really hot water and soak the water bottle overnight.  I think I may try cucumbers next!

Pansies and violas in my yard!  Hey!  Hey!  Hey!  Hey!
2.  Gardening.  I spent one whole day planting seeds, painting a little wooden rack to put my potted flowers on, and weeding the flower beds.  The end result is awesome!  I love coming home and seeing my purple tulips and painted pots waiting there for me.  I also planted a bunch of wildflower seeds.  They are low maintenance and will continue to sprout yearly.  I'm thinking about planting only a few vegetables (zuccini, radishes, and carrots) and TONS of herbs (lavender, basil, rosemary, dill, and sage).

No bears here.
3.  Hiking.  There are so many places to hike outside of Spearfish!  Jeff and I have decided to hike one trail a week.  We did a hike this week that ended in a beautiful waterfall.  I feel so blessed to live in this area and to have a wonderful hiking partner.

Walking is good for you!
4.  Walking.  If I am not out hiking this summer, I am walking outside or at the gym.  My goal is to walk for 45 minutes at least three times a week.  I love walking on the treadmill and setting the program for hills because I don't have to think about it.  I just set my speed and go!  Plus, I can read a book at the same time, which I loooove!

Delicious!
5.  Iced tea.  I've just been making boiled tea with two large tea bags, but I am looking forward to setting a pitcher out on my front porch to make some sun tea!  Bring on Summer!

Love,
Nik
