5 Things to Like This Week

Be careful.  They will rock your socks off.  And then you'll just be barefoot . . .
1.  Epic Guitar Solos.  OK.  I have seen a lot of live music, but this weekend, I saw some live music that was MIND BLOWING.  I saw the most epic live guitar solo of my whole life!  I was at The Back Porch bar on Saturday night enjoying the jazz beats of a band called Main Avenue Warehouse from Sioux Falls, SD.  This band consisted of 2 trumpet players, 2 sax, bass and lead guitarists, a keyboardist, and a drum kit.  I'm tellin' ya, the sound was incendiary.  Anyway, during a cover of Prince's "Purple Rain" the lead guitarist on a fender strat gave us the delight of the most epic solo EVER.  Anyway, you gotta check them out if you like live music.  Give 'em a listen HERE.

What a good blog should be.
2. Living Well Spending Less blog.  I love this blog.  Ruth writes so many relevant entries.  She's got a section about coupons, recipes, natural household cleaning products, DIY projects, saving money, and more.  I like the format, the images, the ideas and . . . the  FREE printables.  You can tell she cares about what she is presenting and I just LOVE THAT!  Check her out, won't you?

Do you see that face?  That is a very smoosh-able face.
3.  Huskeranians!  I am a cat person, but if I ever get a dog, I want one of these.  I am a huge fan of little dogs.  This is probably because they remind me of cats.  Anyway, I would smoosh this dog every-single-day!

You know what they say . . . Once you go . . . What?!!
4.  Deschutes Black Butte Porter.  A friend came to visit this weekend and she bought this beer and let me try it.  I really like a small glass of porter every once in awhile.  This porter was not as heavy as your normal dark beer, which was nice.  It had the nice deep, earth taste, but it also had a slight spiciness to it that I really enjoyed.

5.  Matt Hires "Restless Heart".  I heard this song today for the first time while streaming from 95.1 The Moose out of Bozeman, Montana.  I really liked it and I like sharing some good, new music with you.  Hires kinda sounds like Adam Duritz from Counting Crows.  (I didn't post his YouTube video because he is a little intense when he sings the song . . . I think I just like listening to him.  So, yaaaa, I'm the nicest person I know . . .)  Anyway, you can give it a little listen if you would like.  You could also give The Moose a little listen too . . . they do a pretty good job up there.

Love ya,
Nik
