Why You So Obsessed With Me?

I have several things that I am obsessed with . . . for example:

Magazines: This is a guilty pleasure. I subscribe to several and yet I still buy a couple at the store when I feel like a treat. I also feel bad throwing them out, so I have stacks all over my house (not hoarder style or anything!). I also cut them up and make pretty decoupage boxes and cards out of them. There's just something about the glossy paper and smell of the perfume ads that I cannot resist. I'm pretty sure that this is genetic. My mom has the same problem. Hint: Find a perfume ad that you like. Cut the little fold with the perfume sample out of the magazine. Open the fold revealing the lovely scent and tape it to the inside or bottom of your lingerie drawer. Ah ya . . .

Scarves: I am lucky to live in Montana because I can wear scarves about nine months out of the year. I love them. I feel naked without them. I think I have about 15-20 total. That's a lot. I have two favorite scarves--one purple scarf I bought at the local farmer's market last year and a pink tie dyed scarf I picked up for $2 at Salvation Army. I believe that wearing a scarf is like wearing a mini blanket around your neck all day long.

Ancient Egypt: This obsession began at 15 when I saw the movie Stargate, started crushing on James Spader, and then went to the library and the internet and absorbed any and every fact I could. Yes. I am that big of a nerd. Did you know that this civilization spanned the course of 2,000 years. 2,000 years! That's so awesome, considering the US has only been around about 230 years. Here are some cool facts about ancient Egypt: The ancient Egyptians were the first to invent vending machines and paper. The pyramids at Giza are the only 7 wonder of the world remaining intact today--and they were NOT built by slaves (i'll explain in detail if you would like). Cleopatra was NOT Egyptian--She was Greek (and a whore). Stop me before I go on my Cleopatra tangent . . . argh, of all the women to be associated with Egy. . . OK stopping.

Tea: Do you even realize how freekin' cool tea is? Seriously. That shit is amazing. I do drink black coffee in the morning, but I drink tea all day long--hot tea in the winter and mostly sun tea in the summer. Tea is so good for you, it's tasty, and it just puts me in a good mood (especially Chai). I used to smoke, I drink (soon to be "used" to drink . . . more to come on this), and nothing calms me or puts me in a better mood than tea . . . well, maybe one other thing, but tea just hangs out in the tea drawer in my kitchen without arguing, is uncomplicated, and doesn't leave the toilet seat up.

Pugs, Pomeranians, and Chinchillas: I know. You're totally rolling your eyes right now. BUT I LOVE THEM!! I cannot resist and I squeal in delight every time I see one of these little creatures. No matter what I am doing, I have to stop and pet them!!! Have you ever seen a little Pug get so excited that his little curly tail wiggles his whole body!!! Or a golden or black Pomeranian so fluffy after a grooming (with a bow!!!)?? OMG and Chinchillas . . . Chinchillas take DUST BATHS!!! Oh yes. They roll around in dust to groom themselves!! (click here) OK. OK. Take a deep breath. Calm down.

Anyway, I'm sure I'm missing some other random, weird thing, but those are just the first that are coming to mind right now.

What are you obsessed with? Come on . . . you have one. I know it!!

Peace,
Nik

This is s meant to be. I am listening to the Black Mask, on your recommendation, which I found in a comment over at Jennies blog, who I happened to do a blog swap with recently. But I digress. I am a huge hip hop fan. I know Bozeman has a great music scene. I was there twice this last summer. My BF is from Montana, and his brother lives in Bozeman. You might know him. Anyway, if you like independent hip hop you should check out Wax.

Ok, enough of me rambling.
