5 Things To Like This Week

He is so tiny!
1.  Baby Zion!  This weekend I got to see my Sister's new baby for the first time!  He is so precious and such a good baby.  I got to hold him for pretty much as long as I wanted on Sunday night and Monday.  I also got to feed him.  My Mom and Sister thought it would be hilarious to see me change his diaper--so they made me do that . . . gross!

You get a ton of produce!
2.  Bountiful Basket.  My friend D and I split a BB this week.  It was awesome!  I got zucchini, corn, potatoes, lettuce, peppers, broccolini, spicy peppers, pears, peaches, and bananas!

"It's not livin' if what you're doin' feels like dyin'."
3.  Ray LaMontagne's album "God Willing and the Creek Don't Rise".  So, it's an hour and a half to get to my hometown from where I live, and I played this album in my car on Monday during my drive back.  It's an older album (from 2010).  It's got a scratchy, Southern sound.  Some of the songs are more for a slow, lazy Sunday morning . . . However, something about track #7 (yes, I still listen to CDs) "Old Before Your Time", really resonated with my youth as well as my life now.  Hmmmm.  Very nice.

If it's already free, why buy it?  Books, not the cow.
4.  Books.  If you need a book, I can hook you up.  We all pay taxes for our public libraries and most university libraries off free public cards.  You can always request a book to be purchased through your local library and there is also InterLibrary Loan.  For example, I knew that Chuck Klosterman's new novel "I Wear The Black Hat" was being released in July 2013.  So, I asked our public library to order it in and they did!  I had to wait until last week to get it, but I don't have to buy a copy!  I never mind waiting to read a book because I usually have another good one already lined up!  Anyway, I guess what I am saying is, you can always get books for free.  That's one of the cool things about libraries!

"It ain't so hard for me to jam."
5.  Jam Jar (Sweet Shiraz).  Um.  This wine is sweet!  Not dry or bitter or bubbly.  It actually tastes like raspberry jam wine!  J and I made breakfast for dinner and it went with my breakfast sandwich perfectly.  Weird, huh?  Anyway, it is really good and the bottle is cool too!

Love,
Nik
