5 Things To Like This Week

Beauty Product Edition

This edition is kinda for the ladies!
Have a lovely Valentine's Day!

1.  Loreal Magic BB Cream.  I saw this advertised on TV and thought I would try it.  I normally just use a light lotion and concealer, but I've been really happy with this BB Cream.  It has tiny granules that disappear and blend to match your skin color.  I really like the light coverage.  I don't use foundation, so this is a nice mix between foundation and lotion.  I even had someone tell me that I have a "peaches and cream" complexion the other day!  So, I'd say this cream is working!

2.  e.l.f. Eyeliner Pen.  OK.  Sit down for this one--this waterproof eyeliner pen is the best I've come across and it is only $1.  Yup.  $1.  It's a steal!  The felt tip applicator brush is what makes this eyeliner the bomb!  You don't have to be a make-up artist to get really nice, defined lines with this stuff.  I believe this brand is only sold at Target, but you can also buy it online at http://www.eyeslipsface.com  . . . FOR $1!

3.  Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner.  I dye, blow-dry, curl, straighten and put products on my hair.  My hair is also naturally curly and dry.  Needless to say, my hair gets damaged.  This stuff repairs it.  It says "3 minutes" and this is true, but I've slept with it on and it worked "miracles".  It is not a salon product, so it's inexpensive--I think I paid around $3.50 for it.  Plus, as all Aussie products do, it smells wonderful.  I use their shampoo and conditioner too and love them for both the way they leave my hair and the wonderful smell.

4.  Perfumed Lotions.  I rarely buy spray perfumes, but I do stock up on quality body lotions.  My all-time favorite is Calvin Klein's "Euphoria", but Victoria Secret's "Seductive Amber" and Bath and Body Works "Sensual Amber" come in at a tie for a close second.  The CK version is more expensive, so the VS or B and BW are better if you are on a budget.  I don't wear these lotions every day.  I reserve them more for evenings out or dates.  I like them better than perfume because the scent stays on the skin longer, plus, if you have curly hair like me, you can run your hands through your hair right after you apply and the scent stays there too.  Love it.  (I've honestly had a lot of comments on my "perfume" when I am out . . . so it must be working.)

5.  Kenra Thickening Spray + John Frieda's Frizz Ease Mousse.  I have naturally curly hair and I've tried just about everything to tame frizz and define my curls.  I've experimented with a lot of products and I've finally found two that work really well together.  I put John Frieda's Frizz Eaze Mousse on the ends of my damp hair and let it air dry for awhile and then I spray my hair with the Kenra Thickening Spray.  If I'm running out of time, I'll blow dry with a diffuser, but normally I try to let it dry naturally and then curl a couple of strands around my face and in back and I am good to go for the day/evening.

Love Ya,
Nik
