5 Things To "Like" This Week

This bread is so baked.  (You knew that was coming!)
1.  Baking bread.  I like baking bread and adding fresh herbs to the dough.  I like baking bread, from a quick mix where you have to add the yeast and everything, but the mix makes it a little easier than from total scratch.  I made some bread for my Grandparents this week (before the blizzard hit) and added some fresh dill (fresh from my freezer).  The result was one savory loaf!  I love the rustic look of a loaf that is left out of the bread pan too!  Yum!

She made me do this!  Not a fan . . . of "the plank".  My trainer's cool.
2.  My two new trainers.  So, at the University where I work, the kids who are in their final year of Sports Medicine are assigned staff or faculty volunteers to train.  I decided to be a Guinea pig this year.  Plus, I got not one, but two trainers!  Bonus!  I had my first session yesterday and, honestly, it wasn't so bad.  I've never really done a lot of weight training before and we focused on arms and abs this week.  I'm a little sore, but I got to wear my new kicks!

Rock it.  Don't stop it.
3.  Electricity!  I've been through blizzards before.  I've even been through blizzards without electricity before, but 53 hours without it really got me thinking . . . about a lot of stuff.  For starters, I appreciate light in the darkness and in the early morning.  I guess it also got me thinking about the little things that I take for granted on a daily basis too.  Anyway, I am lucky that my power is on and I was totally safe and only a little uncomfortable the entire time.

This is not a new invention, but it's one of my new faves!
4.  Book light.  My boss lent me his clip on book light and it was AWESOME.  The last night I was without power, I read in bed for two hours straight.  It was great!  I am going to order myself one on amazon.com!

Adult Root Beer Float.
5.  RumChata and Root Beer.  The first day of the blizzard I drank this!  It tastes exactly like a ROOT BEER FLOAT!  I had some little shooters of RumChata and some Hansen's Diet Root Beer.  RumChata is a creamy, spiced liquor (think Cinnamon Toast Crunch).  Umm.  Yes!

Love ya!
Nik
