1. My family and Halloween. My parents have always been big on Halloween. I remember when I was in 6th grade and invited my entire class to my house for my birthday. My parents made a haunted house and scared the living daylights out of fourty10-year-olds. It was awesome! This year was no exception. We partied (adult-style) this time in Deadwood, South Dakota. It was great and yet another good memory to add to the many from Halloweens past!
2. My brother and sister-in-law knew just what I wanted for my birthday! They got me a gift card to The Green Bean and the coolest clay mug everrrrr! I love it, but not as much as I love them!!
3. It's my birthday on Thursday. So yeah, there's that. Last year, my birthday was really depressing. I had just moved three states away from my friends and I was missing them terribly. This year is a little different. I have new friends who are wonderful, but 32 is still a daunting number. So many things come to mind that people my age are doing: settling down, having kids, putting up white picket fences, and buying appliances. My goal is simple, I just want to be happy. This year, yup, happiness is the goal. It's been going pretty well so far . . . I find the less I seek others or things to fill me up, the easier it is to be freeeeee.
4. "The Landlord". OK. This is kinda old, but every time I see it I almost pee my pants laughing. "I'm just buzzzzed!" It is a classic! Enjoy.
5. "All you are, right now in this moment, is enough." Word.
Love,
Nik
