I Love You

Why I love my Mom:

1. My mom encourages me to follow my dreams.  She told me I was a good writer and that I have a love of books and that it was OK to change my major from Anthropology to English Literature.
2. She believes in me even when I find it hard to believe in myself.  When I am low she reminds me how strong I am.
3. She shows me how to have courage and that things will be OK.  I see her strength and it makes me stronger.  She has dealt with illness, loss, and heartbreak with courage and with grace.
4. She forgives me when I make mistakes, big and small.  We may fight or disagree sometimes, but we always forgive.  I know that she loves me unconditionally.
5. She is honest.  She tells me when I am out of line (you cuss a lot on your blog Nik), but she also tells me when she is proud of me (you got that job all by yourself).

Thank you Mom.  Thank you for letting me learn my lessons on my own, but being there to hold my hand, to hug me, and to listen when I need you most.
