What do you think brings out the good in people?
Well, I can think of a lot of things that are good and that make people happy: love, chocolate cake, good conversation, sleeping in, sex, or religion. However, when I really think about what brings out the good in people, I'm convinced it's something deeper.
I first have to think of "good" people. I think of people like Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King, Jr., Bill Gates, Bono and even Oprah. These people all give/gave of themselves in different ways. I have to ask myself, why? Why are/were these people so driven to do good? Is it inherent, monetary ability, religious obligation . . . or was it something else? Something intangible?
Maybe it's a bit simpler than that. Perhaps it's just plain desire to do good, and it doesn't have to be on a grand scale. For example, you can see this desire everyday. It's apparent in mothers everywhere. It's in the teacher who stays late to help a student struggling with his times tables. Or in certain situations: Someone drops some cash. Another person picks it up . . . and then returns it. People hold doors open everyday.
. . . Someone smiles at you. . . .
Do good my lovelies,

So I just had to share something. When Robb would drop me off at work he'd always say "if you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours". He said his mom used to say that to him when he was little.
I thought it was cute and appropriate for your post.
HAPPY FRIDAY!!
